Since 2007, I have called Fire and EMS my career. Though, I am more of a paramedic than a firefighter. I love education and helping those understand the weird cases they receive in the prehospital setting.
I am trying to help grow the prehospital provider. Paramedics and EMTs have an incredible position and there is nothing else like it in medicine.
Most of us have been given the “here’s your keys and radio, have fun” introduction to the ambulance. Lost in the world of knowledge that slips away after every boring nursing home transfer. It is easy to lose that passion that once kept you going through the complexities of medic school.
